For the first time ever, the Lafitte Greenway will host a free, daylong music festival. “Hike Fest: Tunes, Tales, and Trails” takes place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 23 at the Greenway Great Lawn (500 N. Galvez St.).
Corey Henry & the Treme Funktet, Robin Barnes, TBC Brass Band, Michot’s Melody Makers, The Funk Griot, and the Trombone Shorty Music Academy youth band are among the performers. The event is presented by New Orleans Recreation Development (NORD) Commission and Friends of the Lafitte Greenway. It’s an expansion of the annual Hike the Lafitte Greenway event, which is now in its 13th year. Performer timeslots are below.
