For the first time ever, the Lafitte Greenway will host a free, daylong music festival. “Hike Fest: Tunes, Tales, and Trails” takes place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 23 at the Greenway Great Lawn (500 N. Galvez St.).
Corey Henry & the Treme Funktet, Robin Barnes, TBC Brass Band, Michot’s Melody Makers, The Funk Griot, and the Trombone Shorty Music Academy youth band are among the performers. Food, beer/cocktail, and art vendors will sell their wares. Every half hour, guided walking tours depart from the Great Lawn, and kid-friendly activities are also on the roster.
