A white picket fence-framed cottage in Uptown lists for $375K

Renovated to the studs in 2011, it’s a stylish mix of weathered textures and new amenities

It doesn’t get more charming than a petite Creole cottage on a picturesque strip of Tchoupitoulas Street...unless that cottage is tucked behind a greenery-draped picket fence. This 1,043-square-foot home was renovated to the studs in 2011. Its retooled features include updated plumbing and electrical systems, but the original hardwood floors and high ceilings remain intact.

Inside, the vibe is modern and bright, thanks to white kitchen cabinets, sliding barn doors, and granite countertops. However, brick fireplaces and a paneled accent wall give the two-bedroom, two-bathroom home a weathered patina. So do the reclaimed windows, shutters, and bricks scattered throughout its rooms and landscaped backyard.

Outside is also where you’ll find a brick patio, stepping stones, topiaries, climbing vines, and a snug side porch. The asking price is $375,000.
