A Greek Revival side hall mansion in Uptown asks $3.4M

Shaun Smith designed its chic, contemporary interior

Built in 1893, this Greek Revival side hall mansion received a 21st-century makeover thanks to interior designer Shaun Smith, who brought his signature touches (bold wallpaper, neutral palettes enriched by luxe surfaces, a mix of contemporary and antique accessories) to the 6,060-square-foot home.

Modern lighting and marble-clad kitchens and bathrooms glitz up the home’s grand, 19th-century proportions. High ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows abound in the five-bedroom, five-bathroom mansion, which sits on an oversized corner lot in Uptown.

Its most enticing feature is the courtyard saltwater pool, flanked by a guest house and a two-car garage. Deep galleries overlook the topiary- and hedge-framed front yard—and there’s also a windowless, armchair-filled media room for cinephiles who avoid fresh air and sunlight.

The asking price is $3,400,000.
