Where to catch a free movie in the park this spring

The New Orleans Recreation Development’s 11-week outdoor film series kicks off this Friday.

New Orleans Recreation Development (NORD) Commission’s “Movies in the Park” series kicks off at dusk this Friday, March 8 with a free screening of “Kubo and the Two Strings Sam Bonart Playground (1209 Forstall Street). The free outdoor movie series continues through May at public parks citywide.

It’s part of NORD’s ongoing efforts to create community and fun, family-friendly events. Movies start at sunset between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., and public library officials will be on hand for giveaways. Bring your own chair, blankets, or snack items and take advantage of the spring weather during this 11-week series.
