Take a Seat: New Orleans' Best Hotel Lobby Bathrooms

View as Map

It's slim picking when it comes to public restrooms in New Orleans and it's certainly no secret that some of the best facilities happen to be in hotel lobbies. While hotel staff may not exactly usher in non-guests who need to pop a squat, they're usually willing to look the other way. The best advice: act like you belong and walk with a purpose. It should be noted that Carnival season is a whole different animal. Most hotels go on lock-down, providing wrist bands or checking room keys at the door to keep the Mardi Gras madness out. Here now are six downtown hotel restrooms that are easily accessible, clean, and a couple are even pretty fancy. Did we miss your go-to spot? After your luxurious lavatory experience at this Waldorf-Astoria property, take a minute to enjoy the swanky block-long lobby with beautiful tile and chandeliers. The men's and women's washrooms are located on opposite ends of the lobby, by the way.

The Saint Hotel's lobby bathroom is easy to find (straight back from the main entrance) and there are certainly no shortage of mirrors in here.

The layout of this Ritz can be confusing (the lobby is on the third floor) and the bathrooms are down a side hallway, but the cloth hand towels and fancy soaps make it worth the trip.

Hotel Monteleone

Perhaps one of the most well-known places in the French Quarter with an easily accessible lobby bathroom, be prepared to wait in line with the Carousel Bar patrons.

The lobby bathroom is nothing fancy, but it wins points for its location right at a streetcar stop.

A tipster named Le Pavillon's lobby bathroom as one of her go-to spots, mentioning clean toilets, private stalls "with secure locks" (always a good thing!) and staff that doesn't seem to mind that you're using their facilities.
