On Thursday, June 2, Kenner City Council approved an ordinance that would require Uber Drivers to obtain an occupational license and increase pricing to continue servicing the New Orleans International Airport.
The Advocate reports potential new owners are hoping to return the Esplanade Mall in Kenner "to its past glories." Kenner Mayor Mike Sigur confirmed the mall is up for sale this week and already management has been transferred over to a new group.
NOLA.com reports there are some visible signs of progress of the new terminal at Louis Armstrong Airport, scheduled to open in October 2018. The article says the project is on schedule and starting to take shape. The airport will also build a hotel.
A new I-10 ramp going to and from the new terminal at Armstrong International Airport will be complete sooner than expected thanks to some new funding, The Advocate reports. The state recently received a $60 million federal transportation grant.
Along with the new terminal planned to open at Armstrong Airport in October 2018, the airport also is planning for a three-star hotel next to the terminal. The Aviation Board and City of New Orleans issued an RFP for hotels with at least 140 rooms.
